Teethsavers has been to Belize two times and in a one day workshop trained the six governments and one private practice dentist in Six-Year Molar Focus Prevention and Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) Intervention. All arrangements were made through Dr. Raphael Samos the country director. Teethsavers teaching team included Susan Hunter, Registered Dental Hygienist and Joan Sears a retired Texas Tech Professor.
All participants received ART instruments and Fuji IX filling material for saving many six-year molars and other teeth. The three Teethsavers from Lubbock teamed up with Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lubbock, annual mission team in Belize to teach and treat (ART) many orphans and primary school children.
